Jane Van Atta is the mild wire woman who makes wild wire women in Kodiak, Alaska. She incorporates beach treasures, found objects & beads in her wire sculptures and mobiles. Poems written in wire add a deeper level of meaning to most of her pieces.
Guaranteed-not-to-float boats are her specialty. Her work has been commissioned for the % for Art program and accepted to numerous juried shows at the Anchorage Museum of History & Art. "Beached Treasure" swam in 2006 Wild Salmon on Parade".

"Wishing on a Starfish" conveys the message: "Wish on a star and you will roam. Wish on a Star to guide you home" Note that the guiding star is the North Star, Polaris.
