Jane
Van Atta is a self-proclaimed “Wild Wire Woman” whose
work has been commissioned for the Chiniak Public Library, and
has been in exhibitions throughout Alaska. She was also the subject
of a spotlight feature for the Kodiak Arts Council. Jane uses what
others leave behind, incorporating wire with beach glass, keys,
stones and copper. Her salmon sculpture includes non-ferrous man-made
objects, found on the beach and altered by the force of the ocean,
then wired together with copper.
