Cheryl Lacy is an Alaska Aleut native whose work has
been displayed in solo and group exhibitions for quilts, beadwork and
drawing. Cheryl
created this piece as a tribute to her brother-in-law and his family,
who are Tlingit, also natives of Alaska. “ax xa `at” means “my
salmon” in Tlingit. Cheryl’s creation was painted to look
like a wood carving of a totem and is a trompe l’oeil painting.
She owns an art/design firm called “Dancing Raven Designs”.
